The year was 1996 and the Vandals blessed us with an alternative to your same old Christmas tunes, Oi to the World!, and how glad we all were. Now, “Oi to the World” may sound familiar to you but maybe you recognize it being sung by Gwen Stefani. Well, you would be correct, as No Doubt covered the Vandals and Warren Fitzgerald actually produced it for them. This has been a staple of my Christmas music listening for years and I’d love to share it with you now.
The title track, “Oi to the World”, really gets down to the true meaning of Christmas spirit. As you can see in this re-release cover art, Haji and Trevor set aside their differences and the whole thing ended in buying each other booze. It’s all about unity.
“Christmas Time For My Penis” is a loving ode to… well… you know. I think we should all be thankful for our pee pees, but during the holiday season, maybe show a little extra TLC.
“My First Xmas (as a Woman)” spreads more Christmas spirit as someone gets the gender reassignment that they have always wanted. Looking good, just like a real girl should.
What better way to end than with souped up version of the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies”? Well, it’s the best way to end this post anyway. Happy Friday folks!
